Pizzi

Ida Vitellozzi, known as Pizzi, was born in Rome, where she studied at the San Giacomo Institute of Fine Arts. Her artistic journey began with collective exhibitions, followed by her first solo exhibition, “Linea e Colore”, at Galleria Lo Scambio in Rome. In the mid-1990s, she moved to Paris, where she presented several solo shows in Paris and Bordeaux, including “Hyperbole des couleurs” at the Hotel Warwick Champs-Élysées in 1998.

Throughout her career, Pizzi has exhibited in prestigious Italian and international venues, participating in events such as the “Cento Pittori di Via Margutta” in Rome and the Biennale Arte Contemporanea in Latina. Her recent exhibitions include “Soul’s Colors” at Galleria San Gallo in Florence (2024). Today, she works between her studios in Rome, Borgo Sabotino, and Rosciolo in Abruzzo.

Pizzi’s art is deeply inspired by human nature. Her paintings place the human body at the center of the composition, surrounded by vibrant, organic backgrounds that create a sense of movement and life, almost like a visual dance. Initially inspired by landscapes and the study of trees, her artistic language has evolved into a unique universe of swirling forms that envelop the viewer.

The female figure is the central subject of her work: women are portrayed in all their complexity — strong, sensual, fragile, and authentic. Through large-scale oil paintings on different materials, Pizzi celebrates femininity as a powerful symbol of identity, emotion, and human experience.
