Biography
Diambra Mariani (Verona, Italy, 1982) and Francesco Mion (Venezia, Italy, 1975) met each other in Bosnia in 2011, during a workshop in documentary photography. In 2013 they moved together to Barcelona; since then, they have been working together. Focused on different kinds of photography (commercial, artistic and photojournalism) they use their cameras as means to create a relationship between them and the places they live in/come from/travel through.
Their goal is to add autobiographical elements to their stories, even when there isn't a strong, self-evident connection. Their choice of subjects comes from the desire to mix their lives and their photographic research. They are quite obsessed by foggy landscapes, dark portraits and night scenes. Their photographs have been exhibited in Italy, Spain, France, England, Portugal, Brazil and Malaysia and have also been published in The Sunday Times, Libération, L'Espresso, Vanity Fair, MarieClaire, Internazionale, La Repubblica and Corriere Della Sera.
