Simona de Maira

Simona De Maira was born in Sondrio (Italy) on October 31, 1952.

She graduated from high school in her hometown at the Fabio Besta State Professional Institute. She then became a design stylist at Euromode school. Se follows the Valtellinese master RENZO SALA, a well-known painter and draftsman, to perfect the drawing and graphics. She lives abroad for a period of nine years, dealing and specializing in hotel marketing and specializing in foreign languages.She has curated the staging of numerous invited exhibitions of the Municipalities of Como, Bormio, Brescia and Morbegno. Her artistic activity is known both in Italy and abroad.Her works have been exhibited on several occasions starting from the presentation of a collection for the home at the Rinascente Duomo Milan in 1993.

In 2003 he is costume designer for Evergreen television broadcast of channel 5 conducted by Gianfranco Funari, in the same year he collaborates with Design Lanerossi of Vicenza. The following year he took care of the set-ups and costumes of the Collegiata theatrical representation in Poschiavo in Switzerland where he was also a designer in a textile company.

SIMONA DE MAIRA writes of herself: “My works are not mine, but belong to those who inspired me for better or for worse. I imprinted my visions because I could not do otherwise: My works, my sculptures, my way of creating, my way of expression expresses the epiphany of my soul, a simulacrum of thoughts that if transmitted orally would not make sense. In my works I express what I believe to be most right and which rests in each of us "interior justice" moral law.During the journey of my life I came across ogres and witches, then finally I met "The Angie of justice, temperance and strength" The invasive, powerful eruption of matter on canvases, on any material, creates a body, a landscape where the mystery of the matter that is released is formed.
