Hidenori Mitsue is a Japanese artist born in 1969 in Himeji, Japan. In 1992, he studied fine arts at Kyushu Sangyo University in the design section. In 2007 he obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the Utrecht School of Arts and in 2009 he graduated with a master's degree from the Dutch Art Institute. He currently lives in Blaricum in the Netherlands. Concepts like the imagination as well as the recognizable and unrecognizable are starting points for Hidenori Mitsue from which he can engage in various experiences on perception. In his work he finds new meanings in everyday subjects and events. Mitsue combines them with the abstract, creating a renewed irrational relationship. The recognizable symbols and images abandon their usual context and take center stage in a new situation. According to Hidenori Mitsue, it doesn't matter what you want to paint, it's the way that matters. It is for him to escape "the domination" of the subject and show the skills of the painter and his experience. Imagination is not essential, in his opinion, but there must be a balance between outside influences and his own thoughts and experiences. In his works, his images are part of a whole and do not work in isolation. The elements that formulate the image are intrinsically linked to each other. He has exhibited in Japan, the Netherlands and Germany.
