Larissa Eremeeva

Born in the then Soviet Union, Eremeeva has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States and Italy. Her artistic language has been shaped by movement across these cultures and landscapes — experiences that continue to inform the atmosphere and emotional resonance of her work.

Originally working figuratively, Eremeeva gradually developed what she describes as an “evocative abstract” language — paintings that seek not to define meaning, but to awaken feeling, memory and reflection. Influenced by literature, silence and the fleeting nature of experience, her work moves between abstraction and suggestion, inviting viewers into spaces that feel both intimate and open.

Drawing inspiration from themes of transience, impermanence, mortality and remembrance, Eremeeva’s paintings seek not to illustrate fixed meanings but to awaken something within the viewer: a feeling, a memory, an image or emotional trace.
