Description
"Bright eyed and bushy tailed" is an original, large abstract oil painting from the Cocoons collection. The artist uses oil and oil stick on canvas to create subtle textures and marks. The autumnal color palette of red, orange and green adds depth to this evocative piece.
Inspired by the idea of a cocoon as a sanctuary, this painting represents a private space for rest, renewal, and freedom. The rhythmic, gestural composition evokes feelings, memories, and images, stimulating an emotive recall of fragile silences and vestiges of calm. The artist hopes to create a tranquil and serene piece with subtle compositional tension.
This abstract expressionism artwork would be a beautiful addition to any space where you seek a sense of calm and introspection. Its organic and subtle nature makes it a versatile piece that complements a variety of decor styles.
Presentation
Born in the then Soviet Union, Eremeeva has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States and Italy. Her artistic language has been shaped by movement across these cultures and landscapes — experiences that continue to inform the atmosphere and emotional resonance of her work.
Originally working figuratively, Eremeeva gradually developed what she describes as an “evocative abstract” language — paintings that seek not to define meaning, but to awaken feeling, memory and reflection. Influenced by literature, silence and the fleeting nature of experience, her work moves between abstraction and suggestion, inviting viewers into spaces that feel both intimate and open.
Drawing inspiration from themes of transience, impermanence, mortality and remembrance, Eremeeva’s paintings seek not to illustrate fixed meanings but to awaken something within the viewer: a feeling, a memory, an image or emotional trace.
