Biography
Born in 1945 in Rotterdam, Anka van der Hoeven is a Dutch artist.
Since her childhood, Anka van der Hoeven was passionate about drawing and created her first pieces with graphic and refined lines. She studied nursing and started working in the psychiatric department of a medical center. It was not until the age of 65, that Anka turned towards artistic creation.
This self-taught artist started creating digital drawings with her computer. Anka van der Hoeven created a feminine world where fashion plays a main role. She works on the clothes, the jewelry, and the hairstyles in order to give style and personality to the twentieth first century women she portraits. Always searching for harmony in her lines and colors, she displays women in different situations.
