Ayman Essa

Ayman Essa is a Palestinian artist born in Gaza City in 1974. He holds a BA in Fine Arts from Al Najah National University in Nablus and an MA in Fine Arts from Helwan University in Egypt. In 2014, he was awarded an artist residency at the International City of Arts in Paris.

Essa’s practice is centered on painting, particularly portraiture. His elegant depictions of women, often immersed in deep shades of blue, explore the mysticism of the feminine form through a visual language that is expressive, thoughtful, and emotionally rich. His work balances beauty and contemplation, inviting the viewer into a space of mystery and quiet intensity.

Essa has exhibited widely in Palestine and internationally, including in France, Italy, Malta, Japan, the United Kingdom, Jordan, and the UAE.
