Biography

JAN DOBKOWSKI (born in 1942).

Painter, drawer, creator of spatial compositions. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Together with J. Zieli?ski he founded the NEO-NEO-NEO Group, which was active in the years 1965-70. At first, Dobkowski remained under the influence of pop-art, then he created erotic paintings, operating with large plain surfaces finished up with decorative, nouveau line. The consequence of painting two-color, red-green works was a 'cut-out' of the figures out of the background and the creation of spatial compositions.
