ANTONI UNIECHOWSKI (b.1903-d.1976)
Antoni Uniechowski was a an eminent illustrator and cartoonist. He was born in 1903 in Vilnius. And died in 1976 in Warsaw. In the 1920s he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After graduation he devoted himself to the art of poster, film and theatre set design, and above all book illustration.
His tempera and gouache drawings were characterized by lightness and freedom. Sometimes, it was a freedom not only in drawing, but also in manners, as Uniechowski is an author of a series of erotic drawings, some of which have never been presented to the public.
