Philippe Boutefeu

Philippe Boutefeu (Phil) is a professional photographer who, although born in Belgium, has been living and working in Portugal for over 30 years. Professionally, his career has primarily been in the areas of advertising photography as well as institutional and corporate photography.

In parallel with his professional activity, he has produced art photographs of a more personal nature over the years and his sensibility and feeling for primary colours and graphic constructions is something that finds expression in all his work.

Inspired by cinema, comic books, graphic novels and street art, he began digitally layering the textures and colours of graffiti interweaving them with landscapes and icons of Portugal. He finds the pigments, materials and forms he uses to compose his works in the streets of Lisbon bathed in the city's golden light.
