Presentation

Alexandre Richelieu-Beridze is a Russian artist born in Leningrad in 1975. He has been living and and working in France since 2000.

His grandfather, Feodor Kholvenkov was himself a painter and Alexander Richelieu-Beridze followed in his grandfather's footsteps while studying at the Fine Arts school in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Initially,he began his career as a graphic designer in Paris in the advertising department, keeping Philippe Starck's motto in mind "Less is more". Alexandre Richelieu-Beridze worked for major brands as interior designer for private homes and boutiques. This is how he created the visual identity for Sonia Rykiel, Kenzo and the Galeries Lafayette, making his name in the profession, and turned into a true trendsetter. He traveled from Paris to Moscow, and several other countries of the world, in order to meet the expectations of his fashion icons.

Several exhibitions have honored works of Alexandre Richelier-Beridze since 2005. He mainly participated in the Art Paris Art Fair and the Florence Biennial. In 2014, his talent was acknowledged and recognized, when he was awarded the Sandro Botticelli prize, attributed each year to a contemporary artist, who seems the most promising.

His style is highlighted by the richness of his paintings, an expression of colors and geometric shapes that the artist theorizes under the name of "the line of color". Specters unite and create a new image. An art that the artist calls abstract expressionism.

Alexandre Richelieu-Beridze's work is part of private collections, especially those of celebrities.
