Dmitry Yakovin is a Russian painter, born in 1969 in Vladivostok. He studied at the Fine Arts academy in Saint Petersbourg and Berlin.
Yakovin's universe is filled with strange characters, gnomes, fairies and elves, in a surrealistic almost fantasy like world.
He is known worldwide but mainly in Russia, France, Germany, USA and Italy. In 1999, Dmitry Yakovin won the third prize from Williamsburg Art and Historical Center in Brooklyn (New York). In 2002, 2003 and 2004, his paintings were part of the annual exhibition of the Society for Art of Imagination in London. The creations of Dmitry Yakovin are part of private collections in Canada, France, Germany, USA, Japan, China, Belgium and Russia, among many others.
