Ha Chong-Hyun (born 1935) is a South Korean artist and a prominent figure in the Dansaekhwa movement. Born in Sancheong, South Gyeongsang Province, Ha studied painting at Hongik University in Seoul. He emerged as a leading artist in the 1960s, challenging traditional artistic norms with his innovative approach. 

Ha's artistic practice is deeply rooted in experimentation with materials, particularly using burlap as a canvas and pushing the boundaries of texture and surface. His artworks often feature repetitive, gestural marks and a subdued color palette, evoking a sense of contemplation and introspection. 

Ha's contributions to the Dansaekhwa movement, characterized by minimalistic and monochromatic aesthetics, have gained international recognition. His works have been exhibited in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul. Ha's enduring legacy solidifies his status as a pioneering artist in contemporary Korean art.
