Olesya Gonserovskaya

Olesya Gonserovskaya (b. 1987, Leningrad) is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Spain and working worldwide. Her practice combines installation, video, performance, drawing, sculpture, and textile-based assemblage, often involving materials with their own agency, such as plants, ink, organic matter, and solar energy. She explores how ecology, psychology, and anthropology intersect with cultural codes and symbols, questioning their relevance in today's context.

Olesya is a member of the art group de_colonialanguage. Her solo projects have been presented in Armenia, Montenegro, Georgia, and Russia, while her group exhibitions include institutions and festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia, India, South Korea, the USA, and other countries. Her works are held in the collections of the Anna Akhmatova Museum, CICA Museum (South Korea), and the Ria Keburia Foundation (Georgia), as well as in private collections internationally.

She studied Monumental Arts at the St. Petersburg Academy of Industrial Arts (2015), completed the Pro Arte Institute program for young artists (2018), and graduated from the Rodchenko Art School in Media Arts (2022). This trajectory shaped her interdisciplinary approach: academic training gave her a sense of scale and form; Pro Arte encouraged research into social and anthropological contexts; and Rodchenko expanded her language into multimedia and digital formats. Together, these experiences underpin a practice that seeks to create open artistic forms — resisting fixed interpretations and inviting the viewer into a space of choice, humor, and individual experience.
