Born in 1974, Oriol Texidor Martinez is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist.
Oriol Texidor studied architecture at the Technical School of Architecture of Valles, in Sant Cugart and at the Technical University of Catalonia. Strongly influenced by Antoni Tapies' work, he gradually became interested in art and its history. In 2001, he participated in the discovery of some of the most important European galleries during a trip of 15 months. On his return, he moved to a small village in the Pyrenees, where he lived during two years completely isolated. During that time he was able to assimilate and meditate about all the information and the images brought back from his trips and developed a new artistic reflection. He started to paint and to create his first series of paintings in 2002.
Oriol Texidor seeks to adapt his technique and his medium to the subject that he wants to represent. In order to reach this objective, he got trained in engraving, digital printing, photography, sculpture and video autodidactically. He creates his pieces combining different techniques.
Through his work, Oriol Texidor seeks to understand the evolution of the human condition in order to increase his spirituality.
In 2007, he came back to his architectural practice and created a workshop called "Plastic Architecture", specializing in the creation of architectural artistic projects.
