Roger Collet is a Swiss artist, born in 1933 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He graduated from Ecole de céramique in Chavannes-Rennes.
He moved to Vallauris in 1956 and opened his own studio in 1966 after having worked ten years for several ceramists like Fernande Kohler, Robert Pérot and Roger Capron. He mostly worked with Vallauris clay and then bought a sandstone oven in 1972 and refined his production by using sandstone and porcelain
1983 onwards, he evolved his artistic research by creating ceramics inspired by the dynasty Song production. He till da continues to work with a variety of clays, using a graphic decor on pieces with ample shapes.
He obtained a gold medal in 1968, at the first Biennial of ceramics in Vallauris, then another gold medal during the International ceramic competition of Faenza in 1977.
