Biography
Born in 1974, Dimitry Yuzefovich a.k.a Dim Yuz is a Ukrainian artist. He lives and works in Israel.
Painting has been of great importance to him since his childhood. At the age of only 11, he joined the Academy of Arts. In 1991, he immigrated to Israel with his family. He joined the Academy of Visual Arts of Beer Sheva and the famous Arts and design Academy of Bezalel.
The artist is interested by the details of mundane life and does poetically figurative and nostalgic paintings. He mainly paints interior scenes, where there is no human presence. Furniture and ordinary objects against weary and old walls. With his contemporary still-life painting, Dim Yuz questions the spectator about his life, leading him to do some soul searching.
Dim Yuz doesn't do painting exclusively but also creates sculptures, installations and videos. He has received several prizes such as the young Israeli artist prize from the American Culture Foundation. He also received several grants which includes the Sharet Scholarship.
