Henry Hate

Henry Hate is a Londoner and a visual artist, his universe was based on tattooing. At the initial stages of his career, he worked for Durk Dehner from The Tom Of Finland Foundation (« promoting and preserving erotic art »). Following this, Henry trained in tattooing in Los Angeles and simultaneously worked in the adult film industry. Among his recent projects, he collaborated with the famous fashion photographer, Nick Knight.

Henry Hate's work is a reflection of his passion for sins and salvation, damnation and redemption, consumption and corruption. His perceives the world through a mix of classic art, pop art and contemporary urban art. He uses various mediums to express himself, these include sculpture, photography, painting and engraving, his themes sway between religion, sexuality, identity, appropriation and iconoclasm. He uses bright and bold colors, inspired by a world which is engulfed by mass consumerism, human taboos, false ideas of marginalized people and power abuse.

He works with major brands like Converse, the Amy Winehouse foundation, Opal Nera, Nissan Motors, Oliver Sweeney Shoes and Diagio, Justerini & Brooks. In June 2016, Henry Hate's work was presented in a program along with other well established or emerging artists
