Biography
Anthea Hamilton is a British artist, who predominantly specializes in unconventional, surreal and striking large-scale installations. After graduating from the Royal College of Art, the artist was shortlisted for the prestigious Turner Prize in 2016. In 2017 she became the first black woman to be awarded a commission to create a work for Tate Britain's Duveen Galleries.
Hamilton’s work has been featured in several well-known showcases since the beginning of her career. These notably include the “Solo Presentation, Liste 06: The Young Art Fair” in Basel, Switzerland, “The Squash,” at the Tate Britain in London, and “The New Life,” Secession in Vienna, Austria.
