Biography
Mathew Leaper is an artist based in Portugal.
Originally from London, Mathew studied at Falmouth College of Arts in the 1990’s before returning to London to “do time” in some of the most important art galleries in the UK, including the Tate, The Hayward, The Saatchi Collection and The Royal Academy of Arts.
At the start of the new millennium Mathew relocated to Portugal.
Over this time, he has been exploring the cultural and historical richness of Portugal complementing and building upon his roots in the UK, which has ultimately influenced his art. Mathew has participated in collective and individual exhibitions in the UK and Portugal, and has art held in private collections in Portugal, South Africa, and the UK.
