Biography
Bhasha Chakrabarti, born in 1991, is currently pursuing her BFA at Yale School of Art. In the artist's own words, she views artmaking as a process of “mending" in both a literal and metaphorical sense. In this way, her work is often thematically concerned with social splintering and other forms of fragmentation, fragility, and vulnerability that she witnesses in the world around her.
Bhasha Chakrabarti's work is often produced on large-scale canvases, using a neutral and softly-blended palette. Such gives her work a deeply intimate, human visual style.
