Biography
Tschabalala Self is an American artist born in Harlem in 1997. She combines painting and printmaking to investigate the psychological and physical impacts of the iconography of the Black female body.
Self received her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale School of Art in 2015. Recent solo exhibitions of her works have taken place at Kunstmuseum, St. Gallen (2023); Le Consortium, Dijon (2022) and Performa 2021 Biennial, New York (2021).
