Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Silvio Buscema was born on January 26, 1936 in Brooklyn. Around the mid-1960s, he began inking the boards of his brother John Buscema, hired in 1966 by Stan Lee for Marvel Comics. He then left this role and became an artist for many Marvel series, in particular: Captain America (script Steve Englehart), Hulk (script Len Wein, Roger Stern, Bill Mantlo), Defenders (script Len Wein and Steve Gerber), Rom (script Bill Mantlo) and Spider-Man (script Gerry Conway, and JM DeMatteis2. He was then often his own inker but also sometimes inked other artists including his brother whom he met again when the latter drew the adventures of the Fantastic Four.
He went into semi-retirement in the mid-1990s, still inking Spider-Girl (issues #59 and later) with Tom DeFalco writing.
