Alfred lets his vision lead him from one group of paintings to the next, rather than trying to deliberately develop a 'style'. This has helped him keep his art fresh by allowing him to carry over what he's learned from one aesthetic to the other.
Experiences in life are usually localized and subjective, creating a series of impressions on a personal scale. Alfred is continually developing a private vocabulary of images with which he attempts to express different aspects of these experiences.
With his surrealist paintings he tries to look 'through' outward appearances and somehow embody the essential mystery of existence.
Alfred has exhibited and sold his paintings since 1973. He has been a member of the Copley Society of Art, Boston, since 2004, and sold paintings at the Boston Museum of Fine Art's 'Museum Council Auction' in 2005, 2006 and 2007
