Jovan Srijemac

Jovan SRIJEMAC is an artist born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1962, and is currently based in the Netherlands - A professional artist since the 1980s, his artistic expression has taken various forms over the years. He describes his style as an unconscious, often chaotic and explosive application of paint to canvas, which results in unanticipated abstract figures, objects and portraits. SRIJEMAC's vibrant compositions are created using acrylic and spray paint on canvas. His work is close to the expressionist style, but he likes to experiment with pop art and action painting. His work from the 1980s was surreal, he wanted to bring a message to the spectators - The main theme was life in the world, against war - In the 1990s his work was dark like his feelings, the war having broken out, he fled his country - In the 2000s, on the contrary, he began to look for color, and now his work is colorful and abstract expressionist. Most of the works are painted with a palette knife, and the color is applied to the canvas with a feeling and emotion that comes from the depths of one's soul.
