Michael Roberts, British fashion journalist and illustrator (1947), studied graphic design and design at Wycombe College of Art. Fashion editor/director, at The Sunday Times, Vanity Fair in New York, British Vogue, New Yorker magazines. He is now a fashion photographer for various Vogue affiliates around the world, GQ America and England, Sunday Times. He is also the author of illustration books (Fashion Victims...) - He is a set photographer (film Victoria - with Emily Blunt -2009). Mr. Roberts was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2022.

In the 90s the artist made many covers and illustrated articles for The New Yorker magazine - For this he used a particular graphic style: he used canson paper which he cut with a scalpel. This gives a particular sharpness to the contours. There are therefore slight reliefs in the work, each colored element having been cut out separately, from the smallest to the largest.
