Tatiana Nega

Russian Federation Bestsellers

The basis of my art is desire to express the interaction between chaotic and rational beginnings, which control our life. Often, we don't have the ability to express our feelings freely and unleash spontaneous impulses due to boundaries, set by society or by our own mind. The only way to discover new opportunities is breaking those rules. This is how I became an artist. Experiments with shapes and mediums have brought me to creation of the visual language, which reflects swiftness of the changes in modern world. This language allows me to convey dynamics and energy of life, its rhythm, variability and inconsistence.
Tatyana Nega is an artist and an art critic, the author of some articles about contemporary artists and scientific publications on the history of art.
In 1989 she graduated from the St. Petersburg StateAcademic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Y. Repin, Faculty of History and Theory of Art
From 1994 to the present, she works as a senior researcher at the State Russian Museum
Since 1998, she is a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists
Since 2012, she began to work as an artist.
From 2014 to 2019, she held 8 solo exhibitions. The last exhibition was “Movement to shape". Direct Art Action UK in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, 2019.
In 2015, she was awarded the medal of the State Museum of Modern Art of Luzzana (Italy)
