Description
This pastel is part of the "Kindergarten" series on women playing with children’s toys or handling them. The title is a reference to the work of German expressionist artists, such as Beckmann, Heckel and Grosz. Michael Bastow made these artworks during the Covid-19 pandemic, without models, by combining some elements from his own drawings (faces, hands, breasts, etc.) of the 80’s and 90’s.
Presentation
Michael Bastow was born in England in 1943. He emigrated with his parents to Australia in 1945 and studied architecture at Melbourne University.
