Presentation
Albert Marquet (1875-1947) was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement. Born in Bordeaux, he moved to Paris to study at the Académie Julian. Marquet developed a unique style characterized by vibrant colors and harmonious compositions. His works capture the light and atmosphere of landscapes, seascapes, and scenes of everyday life. Inspired by his travels, particularly in the Mediterranean, Marquet conveyed the beauty of skies and waters. His bold palette and intuitive approach to painting influenced many contemporary artists. In addition to his painting career, Marquet was a beloved teacher, sharing his passion with students. His legacy endures through his artworks, displayed in numerous museums worldwide, celebrating the harmony between color and light.
