Contemporary abstract expressionnist pastel on paper of olive trees in summer in Provence by Belgian artist Francis Besson. Signed bottom right.

This artwork presents a dynamic and abstract landscape, characterized by its vivid use of color and expressive forms. Dominated by swirling strokes of yellows and greens, the piece evokes the chaotic energy of nature. Central to the composition are towering forms of gnarled olive trees, that seem to dance with a vibrant vitality against a backdrop of soft blues and grays. The olives seem almost aflame as the hot summer sun passes through the leaves. The artist employs bold contrasts and fluid lines, which create a sense of movement and depth, drawing the viewer into an immersive experience. The strategic placement of bright yellow patches across the canvas adds a sense of light and highlights the textured surface. This piece stands out for its ability to merge abstraction with natural elements, inviting contemplation on the interplay between chaos and harmony in the natural world.
