Abstract Colorfield Pastel and Acrylic on Paper, 2023

Francis Besson

One of a series of three contemporary abstract colorfield pastel and acrylic works on paper by Belgian artist Francis Besson. Signed to the reverse and presented in a wooden frame under glass. The works are all available individually or as a group of three on Artsper. See final photo for triptych. This abstract artwork is a remarkable exploration of color and form. A dynamic interplay of shapes, the image is dominated by a striking red area sweeping diagonally across the canvas, creating a sense of movement. Below it, cooler blue and gray tones create a calming contrast, evoking a sense of depth and tranquility. The backdrop is punctuated by muted pinks and soft blues, adding layers of complexity. The textured surface suggests motion and energy, inviting viewers to ponder the interaction of colors. Framed in a minimalist wooden frame with a black matte, this piece commands attention with its bold yet harmonious composition. It encapsulates the essence of abstraction, skillfully balancing color and form to evoke emotion and reflection.
