Jean Feinberg is an American abstract painter who uses painting, wood, canvas and paper to explore the mixture between a painting and an object. By using reclycled wood, she constructs paintings that have sculptural qualities, blurring the lines between the 2D and the 3D représentations. She lives and works in New York . Jean Feinberg obtained a Barchelors Degree in Fine Arts from the Skidmore College, in the North of the state of New York and then obtained a masters degree in art and painting at the Hunter College. Her works defies the points of objective reference, evoking mostly the meditative qualities and facilitationg the emotional explorations.

Jeanette Fintz, an abstract painter and art writer, has written about the work of Feinberg for the Artful Mind; " The minimalist, rustic constructions of multiple sutile shades of Feinberg are in harmony with the abstract canvases that she has exhibited all along her career. Her geometric style deliberate but thoughtful, has always been inundated of planar colors... her sensibility to light, shapes and lines transforms..."

The criticism of Feinberg's work has been made in several famous art publications, including Artforum, Artnews, Art International and the New York Times. Feinberg has obtained several residencies at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, the oldest colony of Artists in the United States.
