Description
Danseuse à l'Écharpe is a very beautiful original drawing realized by the Russian artist Erté in the 1940s. Mixed media (tempera, gouache, and watercolor) on ivory paper.
Hand-signed "Erté" in black ink on the lower right margin.
Excellent conditions. Very elegant wood frame included (cm 48.5 x 37). The dry stamp is present on the lower left margin. On the back of the sheet, "Danseuse à l'echarpe" is written in black ink, while the name Nelly Renée is written in pencil. The original hallmark of the artist is also present at the top.
The supple and elegant female figure represented in the Art Nouveau style is realized with mixed media (watercolor, gouache, and markers on the shoes and velvet pink gloves). The plumage and the drapery are rendered wonderfully. The ivory-colored sheet in excellent conditions, with a dry stamp on the lower left margin on the back.
This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the licence according to the final destination of the artwork.

Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th-century artist and designer in an array of fields, including fashion, jewellery, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theatre, and opera, and interior decor.
