Description
In Angels' Queen, Margot Laffon celebrates the contemporary woman as a modern sovereign, somewhere between pop icon and timeless figure. The gaze, an intense and magnetic green, instantly draws the eye and asserts its presence: it is the gaze of a queen who knows her own strength — proud and untamed.
The white crown, traced with a swift, energetic stroke, evokes the legacy of street art and pays tribute to the free spirit of the great figures of urban painting. It does not weigh down the subject's head; it elevates her. Around her, bursts of color — vivid fuchsia pink, solar yellow, deep blues, touches of turquoise — shatter the classical portrait and turn it into a pictorial manifesto. Drips, impastos, and splashes of paint create a dialogue between mastery and spontaneity, between figuration and abstraction.
The face, finely rendered in black and white, anchors the chromatic whirlwind that surrounds it. The red lips, full and assertive, extend this tension between softness and character.
