A study in stillness and light. This painting captures a silent assembly of vintage objects. A gold-rimmed alarm clock anchors the composition. Its pale face suggests the passage of time in a dormant room. Next to it rests a sculptural wooden form. The object curves with an organic grace. A long handle extends across the foreground. This creates a strong diagonal line that leads the eye.
The palette remains muted and earthy. Terracotta tones blend into soft ochres and deep shadows. Light falls from the side. It carves out the volume of each shape. The brushwork is fluid yet precise. It evokes a sense of nostalgia and quiet contemplation. The contrast between the metallic sheen of the clock and the matte texture of the wood adds tactile depth. Every element feels deliberately placed. The scene transforms everyday relics into a meditative arrangement. The shadows stretch across the surface. They ground the objects in a tangible space. The focus remains on the subtle interplay of warmth and coldness. It is a refined exploration of form and domestic silence.
Olga Yerushalmy was born in 1978 in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has lived in Israel since 1993. She currently lives and works in Israel. Yerushalmy studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design from 1998 to 2003, following earlier studies at the “Gan Nahum” Art School in Rishon LeZion. Working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, her practice focuses on light, shadow, memory, and the gradual disappearance of form. Through acrylics, watercolor, etching, monotype, and mixed techniques, she explores the fragile boundary between presence and absence, often dissolving figures and spaces into traces and reflections. Yerushalmy has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad, including international printmaking biennials, and took part in an art residency in Poland in 2024. One of her works is included in the collection of a museum in North Macedonia. In 2026, she participated in the Fresh Paint Art Fair in Tel Aviv as part of the independent project "Dialogue", curated by Ella Cohen, alongside another artist. The project explored the meeting between different artistic voices through painting and printmaking
