Description
This artwork by Olena Shtepura, titled "The Fall of Saturn," captures a captivating visual narrative that fuses elements of surrealism and expressionism. A solitary figure, adorned in formal attire, traverses an azure planet, evoking a sense of a journey both grandiose and perilous. This figure, Saturn personified, strides with a poise that belies his precarious position between the heights of success and the precipice of downfall. Shtepura's brushwork breathes life into this cosmic odyssey, as celestial bodies bear witness to this solitary sojourn. The classical figure, subtly integrated into the lower quadrant, anchors the composition, providing a grounding contrast to the boundless expanse that engulfs the scene.
The artist's masterful blend of bold colors and evocative imagery offers a statement piece that resonates with a unique feminine perspective. Olena Shtepura's extensive background in set design and fine arts, culminating in a master's degree from the prestigious National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine, is evident in her confident manipulation of space and form. Her works, known for their striking use of contrast and scale, reflect a deep engagement with the subjects she portrays. The painting stands as a testament to her artistic journey and the vigor with which she approaches the canvas, marking her as a significant figure in contemporary art circles.

Presentation
Olena Shtepura is a young professional painter and set designer. She holds a master degree in arts from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine and is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Olena is actively participating in group exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad (over 30 exhibitions for the last 5 years), takes part in national and international art competitions, festivals, and art residences. Recently Olena also had a few personal exhibitions. Since the beginning of war in 2022 Ms. Shtepura participated in a number of exhibitions of Ukrainian art around Europe and United Stated.
Olena works in such styles as surrealism, expressionism, sometimes moving to the edge of abstraction. Olena likes to use large canvases, using bold and contrasting colours, and many of her paintings may be easily called "statement artworks". What definitely makes her paintings unique is a gentle feminine touch to most subject of her artworks, even those that are on the edge between figurative art and abstraction.
