Description
NEOTERIC ABSTRACT-3" is an artwork that embodies the essence of abstract art. This piece is crafted specifically for abstract artists and art enthusiasts who appreciate the full spectrum of abstraction. The term "neoteric" signifies new or modern, indicating that this work presents a fresh and contemporary take on abstract expression.
Range of Abstraction
The artwork represents a comprehensive range of abstraction, including:
Geometric Abstraction: This style involves the use of geometric shapes and forms. The precise lines, angles, and curves create a sense of order and structure, often leading to a visually balanced composition.
Lyrical Abstraction: In contrast to geometric abstraction, lyrical abstraction focuses on expressive, free-flowing, and organic forms. This style emphasizes spontaneity, fluidity, and the emotional quality of the brushstrokes.
Precise Abstraction: This aspect of the work involves meticulous attention to detail, where every line, shape, and color is carefully considered and placed. It often results in a clean, refined, and polished look.
Raw Abstraction: Here, the emphasis is on the raw, unfiltered expression of the artist's emotions and ideas. The marks and forms are more intuitive and less controlled, often resulting in a powerful and dynamic composition.
Artistic Elements
- Shapes: The use of various shapes, from simple circles and squares to complex and irregular forms, plays a crucial role in the composition. These shapes interact with each other to create harmony, tension, or contrast.
- Colors: The color palette is diverse and vibrant, chosen to evoke specific emotions and moods. The interplay of colors can range from harmonious blends to stark contrasts, enhancing the visual impact of the work.
- Forms: The forms in the artwork may be solid or fluid, defined or ambiguous. They contribute to the overall structure and flow of the composition.
- Gestural Marks: The gestural marks are the spontaneous and expressive strokes made by the artist. These marks bring a sense of movement and energy to the piece, reflecting the artist's hand and emotions.
Purpose and Impact
"NEOTERIC ABSTRACT-3" aims to push the boundaries of traditional abstract art. It invites viewers to explore the diverse possibilities within abstraction, encouraging them to engage with the artwork on a deeper, more personal level. By encompassing a wide range of abstraction, from geometric precision to lyrical freedom, the piece offers something for every abstract art lover.
This work serves as a testament to the versatility and richness of abstract art, demonstrating that abstraction is not limited to a single style or approach. Instead, it is a dynamic and evolving form of expression that continues to captivate and inspire both artists and audiences alike.

Presentation
Anand Manchiraju is an Indian artist whose multidisciplinary practice blends painting, photography, and experimental techniques. Influenced by his artist father, he began painting in childhood and later studied at JNTU. His work explores themes including nature, spirituality, daily life, and the human figure. Anand employs oils and acrylics on canvas, as well as unconventional materials such as bromide paper and x-ray film, using photographic chemicals to develop what he terms “photo-paintings.” His style spans impressionistic and abstract modes. Over his career, he has produced thousands of artworks and held numerous solo exhibitions across India. He also served as President of the Andhra Academy of Arts for over 30 years, promoting artistic engagement in the region. Anand’s practice continues to evolve through constant experimentation with mediums and materials, reflecting his commitment to innovation and exploration across traditional and contemporary formats.
