• Expressive: It seeks to evoke emotions, ideas, and a sense of aesthetics through non-traditional means.

Neoteric Abstract Art

The term "neoteric" means new or recent. When combined with abstract art, it suggests a modern, innovative approach to abstraction. Here's a closer look at what this entails:

Full Range of Abstraction:

• Geometric Abstraction: This includes art that uses geometric shapes and forms in a precise and systematic manner. Artists like Piet Mondrian and Kazimir Malevich are key figures in this style.
• Lyrical Abstraction: This style is more fluid and expressive, often focusing on the emotional and intuitive aspects of creation. It can be seen as a counterpart to geometric abstraction.
• Precision to Rawness: Neoteric abstract art spans from highly detailed and meticulous works to more spontaneous, raw, and unrefined pieces. This range allows artists to explore different techniques and expressions within the abstract genre.

Shapes, Colors, and Gestural Marks:

• Shapes: The use of various shapes, whether geometric or organic, to construct the composition of the artwork.
• Colors: The selection and combination of colors play a crucial role in conveying emotions and creating visual impact. Abstract artists often use bold and contrasting colors to make a statement.
• Gestural Marks: These are the visible brushstrokes, splatters, and other physical marks made during the creation of the artwork. They reflect the artist's physical movement and emotional state during the creative process.

Exclusivity for Abstract Artists:

• Dedicated Space: Neoteric abstract art creates a dedicated space for artists who focus solely on abstraction, allowing for a more concentrated and refined exploration of this art form.
• Innovation and Experimentation: It encourages artists to push the boundaries of traditional abstraction, exploring new techniques, materials, and concepts.

Impact and Significance

• Cultural Reflection: Neoteric abstract art reflects contemporary culture and thought, offering a fresh perspective on abstraction.
• Emotional and Intellectual Engagement: It engages viewers on both an emotional and intellectual level, prompting them to interpret and connect with the artwork in personal ways.
• Artistic Freedom: This style celebrates artistic freedom and individuality, allowing artists to express their unique visions and creative processes.

In summary, Neoteric Abstract art represents a dynamic and evolving field within abstract art, emphasizing innovation, a broad spectrum of abstraction, and a deep engagement with shapes, colors, and gestural marks. It provides a platform for abstract artists to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of their craft.
