Description
Title: Maitreya. Spring. Suzhou, China
The painting “Maitreya. Spring. Suzhou, China” carries us into the depths of Chinese culture, revealing a scene that unites spirituality and nature. Created in 2009, the work embodies the harmony and serenity of spring; it was painted under the spell of the unforgettable atmosphere of the ancient city of Suzhou. The artist Oleksandr Khrapachov first worked en plein air, breathing in the fragrance of blossoming gardens, and later completed the work in the studio, where a model posed for him.
The painting was made inside a Taoist temple, before the symbol of the Mother, an image embodying the feminine principle, fertility and protection. Soft, flowing strokes of oil paint convey the warmth of the spring air and the sense of deep peace that reigns in the temple. Academism combined with impressionism creates a harmonious balance between clarity of detail and emotional expressiveness.
This work is not just a painting but a true masterpiece that embodies the age-old wisdom and spiritual power of the East. The graceful figure of the model, surrounded by symbols of Taoist culture, lends the painting depth and intimacy, making it all the more special and unique.
