Description
This is a pastel done on archival pastel sand paper. With this pastel, I did an underpainting using watercolor and then applied pastel over it. I enjoyed painting this snow scene. This is a pastel. I do not use a fixative as it will darken and lose colors if fixative is sprayed on it. Pastels are Pure pigment and will last centuries if properly cared for. They need to be framed under glass. I prefer using spacers and museum or non-reflective glass (no matting is necessary if framed this way). Note: Each monitor is different. Colors are represented as close as can be and may differ under another type monitor.
Presentation
Art is a way of expressing my inner feelings and spirit. I look for subjects that move and connect with me both visually and emotionally with the hope of translating the ordinary into a moving experience for the viewer. By using a pastel stick or a brush loaded with oil paint, I design and create two-dimensional paintings that are intimate and emotional.
Education:
I am a Signature Member of the American Women Artists. I have taken art classes in college and from many master artists. Learning is a never ending passion.
Workshops taken in recent years include those by Marc Hanson, Mary Pettis, Kami Mendick Polzin, Scott Lloyd Anderson, Albert Handell, Deborah Parish, Debora Stewart to name a few.
