Description
“Ti’amā”; “free”; in the sense “not slave, nor prisoner”, “who has the choice”. The word is Tahitian.
Sophie was inspired by the Marquesas Islands, the paradise islands.
The Pacific Ocean with its opaline, transparent and turquoise hues, almost “sea green”.
The overall tone of the work is rather clear, there is not much contrast, this is intentional. The sky would almost merge with the sea if there were no clouds.
Quite minimalist, the work gives off a feeling of softness and happiness. The painting is summery and bright.
The canvas chamfers are painted gray/beige.

Presentation
“I am for a reconnection with the Living; My artistic quest is to express the beauty and joy of being connected to the Earth.
In love with our blue planet, Sophie follows her inspiration wherever it comes from, as long as the common thread is, mainly the Environment, more precisely the Natural Elements. She uses contrast to bring out the light, tries to get to the essential, with the grace of the natural.
Sophie is a French artist, born in Paris in 1964. Listed at i-CAC, present on the international art market for 20 years.
Graduated as a “decorative painter" from the Art et Métier Institute for Decorative Mural Art;
Frescoes and Trompe-l'oeil.
