Description
There are names that carry all of the south within them. Paloma Beach, the little cove of Cap Ferrat where the light has never truly left the pines, where the water holds the turquoises like a well-kept secret. The night blue appears at the top, dense, almost velvety. Then the sea slopes into turquoise, that particular turquoise of the Riviera, the one that is nowhere else found. The waves dance, the foamy white rises, falls, rises again. And the shore, down below, burns gently. The golden sand is there, truly there, integrated into the canvas, mixed with the material, with its golden flashes that prolong the sun. You can almost feel it underfoot. It is a beach inhabited by the light of the south. A memory of warm skin, of salt on the lips, of afternoons that never end.
Presentation
An emerging visual artist, recognized for her creativity and her works rich in emotion, Brigitte Dravet stands out for her use of gold leaf on raw textures and her commitment to upcycling art.
Her artistic approach is a dialogue between light and matter, between textures and reflections, her paintings inspired by the sea and the sky, invite us to explore minimalist and poetic landscapes, her palette evokes her inner life, the great masters of Asian arts from whom she draws inspiration call this momentum "the breath" the one that animates nature in its truth. The gold of the spirit emerging from the glow of the depths reminds us that there is always a light deep within us and all around us, even in the dark. Engaged in upcycling-art, she gives a second life to mannequins that she transforms into luminous works. Her innovative and environmentally friendly approach makes her a contemporary and visionary artist.
Portfolio reviewed by Anastasia Mitrogogou (Podgorny Robinson Gallery and Perrotin Gallery)
Brigitte is strong in representing the sensations of a landscape, the earth and the sea which form an extraordinary duality within her paintings. I will not fail to say that her paintings are new, original and whole experiences. We are immersed, integrated and plunged inside the liquid element, water or its evaporation which is air.
The artist's technique in terms of colors, shapes, texture and size is splendid. The materials she uses, the gold leaves on canvas and her artistic procedure are evocative of her style. The artist uses her artistic expression in an efficient and precise way. We have the impression of clearly seeing the landscape she represents in her paintings as if we were in front of the sea, near the sky, etc. Even if some of her paintings are very abstract and fragmented and we do not clearly discern the subject represented, we have suspicions of themes by the materials used and the movement created on the surface of the canvas.
The artist has a lot of potential in the art market. His reach in the art market is beyond his native France.
