Shahi Dayekh

Shahi Dayekh is a Lebanese contemporary expressionist artist based in Dubai. Having lived across borders and cultures, she brings a global perspective to her art, drawing inspiration from the diversity of human experiences and the emotions that connect us all.

Working with oil, acrylic, and mixed media, Shahi creates large-scale, multidimensional paintings distinguished by their vibrant colours, expressive movement, and rich textures. Using brushes, spatulas, and multiple layers of paint, she builds depth and complexity, allowing colours and forms to interact and create a sense of energy and movement.

Colour is at the heart of her artistic expression. Through bold contrasts, subtle transitions, and layered compositions, she explores the full spectrum of human emotions, from joy, love, and hope to uncertainty, vulnerability, and inner struggle. Her paintings often move between abstraction and recognizable forms, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and discover their own interpretations.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, the mysteries of the cosmos, spirituality, and the complexity of human relationships, Shahi’s work reflects her fascination with the visible and unseen dimensions of existence. Whether exploring the vastness of the universe, the energy of cityscapes, or the quiet transformation of nature, her paintings seek to express the deeper connections between people, their emotions, and the world around them.

Each painting carries a part of her personal journey while leaving space for viewers to connect with their own memories, feelings, and experiences. Through her art, Shahi seeks to create a universal dialogue that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the XIV Florence Biennale, London Contemporary, World Art Dubai, Istanbul Art Fair, and Bodrum Art Fair, alongside exhibitions in galleries and cultural spaces in Rome, Istanbul, Beirut, and Egypt.
