Description
This painting is inspired by a photograph taken by Vivian Maier. In the 1950s, this woman roamed cities armed with a Rolleiflex camera, which allowed her to capture intimate and spontaneous photos of strangers she met.
After his death, his photos fascinated the world, and in particular the artist Britt who was inspired by a photo of a little girl pouting. Discovered not by chance, the artist pays homage to Vivian Maier by using the image of this little girl to challenge people about the rights of women and children, and to open awareness to the problems of the environment and social justice.
Presentation
Britt is a French artist, born in Lyon. After studying Art History, she took up the trade of her mother as a decorative painter. She spends her days on construction sites, painting frescoes, trompe-l'oeil, faux marble, coatings. For the past ten years, she has been painting paintings in mixed media. She works with posters she finds in the streets of Lyon, Genoa, Paris...
The influence of pop art, street art is visible in his work.
For the past few months, she has been raging on the walls of Lyon with her little girls, a tribute to Vivian Maier, from whom she has taken up the image of a little girl to call out to people in the street about the rights of women and children, to raise awareness environmental and social justice issues.
