Guided by Love, The Happiness Series: Exploring Inner Joy series, 2024

Tetiana Pchelnykova

In this painting, the artist creates a visual allegory that draws attention to the theme of inner happiness and joy in challenging times. The scene depicts a mother and her young daughter holding hands, standing amidst the vast expanses of the steppe. The image impresses with its simplicity while simultaneously conveying a profound sense of calm and harmony. The plants swaying in the wind metaphorically reproduce the fluidity of time and life changes that constantly surround us. This dynamic underscores the importance of life's journey and its ongoing transformation. The scene portrayed in the painting invites the viewer to feel the presence of the moment and the value of family bonds and shared moments. It inspires reflections on the meaning of transience and the simplicity of life, as well as how happiness can be found in the most unexpected situations. Such a visual narrative provides an opportunity to deeply experience the moment and enrich one's inner world with new discoveries and reflections on the true essence of happiness.

In this series of artworks, I delve into the theme of happiness and joy in unusual times when it seems that the whole world is in a state of upheaval and instability. My inspiration and concept stem from the conversations of the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu in their book "The Book of Joy," where both share wisdom and practical advice on achieving inner happiness even in a changing world. My work is focused on bringing to light the inner joy that lies within us, regardless of the circumstances of the external world. Each canvas in the series reflects everyday scenes and moments when the most ordinary actions can become a source of deep satisfaction and peace. I employ various techniques and painting styles to convey this concept, blending realism with abstraction and symbolism. Each image in my works is created with the thought of how it can inspire the viewer to inner discovery and the pursuit of joy in their own lives. This series of paintings is intended not only for aesthetic enjoyment but also as a means of stimulating reflection and dialogue about what truly matters in our lives and how we can find happiness in any situation. I invite you on this journey to inner happiness with my new series of paintings, "The Joy Series." Be open to new experiences and discoveries!
