Description
My latest works reveal a personal exploration of the contrast between the human being and Mother Nature. While one part lives in nihilism, in an arid context of lost feelings, the other burns with the desire to rediscover itself, to regenerate, and to reconnect with its own emotions. These latest works begin with the rediscovery of ourselves through nature and silence.

The technique I used features a vertical stroke made with pen or pastel. The line makes the represented subject more vibrant and elusive and undefined at the same time. The pastel narrates the true, authentic, living part that longs to be nourished by beauty and harmony.
Presentation
“Art always arrives before me." Gianluca Pompilio was born in Rome in 1991. He is a self-taught artist and has collaborated with the Tobian Art Gallery since the beginning of 2023. Pompilio mixes watercolor with graphite or ink, resulting in a harmony between the different techniques. He prints his work on handmade paper, creating unique results embracing imperfections. He also creatively uses marble to demonstrate its use in new media, such as drawing, as opposed to sculpting or engraving.
