Description
Promenade – Acrylic and charcoal on canvas, ready to hang.
This artwork blends abstract and figurative techniques to create an intriguing and vibrant scene. At the center, a woman is partially depicted with delicate lines, dressed in vivid shades of blue and pink, evoking a juxtaposition of elegance and dynamism. Her gaze seems to reach beyond the boundaries of the canvas. The background is a lively array of colors, with bursts of green and blue radiating a vibrant, organic atmosphere. Textured touches, reminiscent of splashes and diffusions, add depth and movement. These elements contrast with the more defined shape of the female figure, evoking harmony between chaos and control, abstraction and reality. The balance of warm and cool tones draws the viewer’s eye, inviting exploration of every corner of the composition. This piece evokes a scene that feels both spontaneous and carefully considered, inviting contemplation on the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the concrete and the dreamlike.
Presentation
Marta Grassi is a visual artist born in 1961 in Montevideo, Uruguay. She has lived and worked in Paris for the last 30 years.
Marta Grassi is a inventive artist, who does not limit her practice to a particular style. Her works oscillates between painting and drawing, figuration and abstraction in harmonious and colorful canvases. She plays with the colors and the materials in a real search for experimentation. The interaction with her support is essential in her work, since it is her who guides her brush. In fact, the artist does not try to completely master her gestures: she lets chance interfere, conferring thus great freedom to the medium itself. Her singular and very personal work is poetic and anti-conformist. Coming from her imagination, they incite dreaming. The viewer is seized by this delicate and enigmatic universe, where he is free to interpret what he sees.
Marta Grassi exhibits her work regularly since 2005.
