Description
This colorful artwork immediately catches the eye. The vibrant colors and harmonious composition of this painting make it a must-have piece of contemporary art. The water lily leaves, depicted in a palette of iridescent greens and soothing blues, float gracefully on the surface of a body of water. Their arrangement is fluid and dynamic, suggesting a delicate and natural movement of aquatic plants. The golden branches that weave between the leaves add a touch of elegance and sophistication. This gold color creates a luminous contrast, allowing the leaves and flowers to stand out against the dark background. The background, a deep blue, evokes the tranquility of a pond at dawn or dusk. This play of light and shadow gives the whole a significant depth and a sense of serene calm. A distinct touch is provided by the water lily flowers, particularly the one tinted in shades of pink and mauve, which seem to gently emerge from the water. Their subtle and delicate presence contrasts beautifully with the softer tones of the leaves, providing a focal point that draws the eye and enriches the overall composition. The technique employed appears meticulous, with precise and controlled brushstrokes, reflecting great attention to detail and mastery. The interplay of colours and shapes demonstrates a skill in manipulating materials to convey a clear and captivating artistic vision. In short, this work is a celebration of aquatic nature, capturing both the beauty and delicacy of water lilies in a balanced and visually striking composition. It is an artistic achievement that, through its charm and elegance, invites the viewer to immerse themselves in a moment of peaceful contemplation.
Presentation
Born in Paris in 1960, Marie-Pierre Autonne studied in a Montessori school. At the same time, she took drawing classes using the Martenot method and painting classes in a painter's studio on Rue du Dragon. It is in this same street that she studied graphic design at Met de Penninghen.
Independent by nature, for a long time she combined her job as a graphic designer with that of a travel guide. From the summits of the Himalayas to the Cape of Good Hope, many horizons shape her sensitivity to beauty, to the passage of time which is not the same for everyone, to the multiple colours and diversities of the world. Her work as a graphic designer refines her sense of colour and layout.
2009: departure for Montreal where she fully directs her life towards painting. Seduced by the birch wood of Quebec, she uses it as an anchor for her painting. She shares a workshop "L'œuf 425" with yCluca, a French painter and Stanley Février, a Haitian visual artist. This was a great period of sharing, projects and concert-exhibitions in this place. There she developed her two sensibilities: one abstract in a vertigo of colours and research of materials, the other more centred on the wild nature of Quebec. 2015: return to France, to Valence. Her gaze becomes closer, capturing the furtive moments of beauty of the Drôme that surrounds her. After several beautiful exhibitions in Valence (Hôtel de Flandresy/Valence - Orangerie de Montéléger - Jardin Médiéval d'Uzès...) and in Paris (104 kléber), she continues her journey and settles in 2020 on the banks of the Loire near Angers. Hypnotised by the majestic Loire and its tributaries (another passion: rowing), she shares with us this form of eternity, the reverse side of the water and its world of trees and clouds that glide by.
She paints for the pleasure of the eyes and the soul, and she believes that people can soak up energy and serenity by stopping to look at it for a while.
Her studio is open to everyone, just contact her!
