Description
Portrait of a young black woman gilded with leaf.
A lot of strength emanates from this face with Mediterranean features. Beautiful blue tones that recall the color of the sea add to the power of the work.
The woman's gaze goes into the distance and evokes the tenacity of the model, but also suggests the dream. The background is gold leaf, this metallic side gives a lot of depth to the painting.
The artist, herself born in the Mediterranean, highlights here feminine strength and all its beauty.
This portrait is painted on 3D canvas.
Hand signed artwork.
Presentation
Nathalie Cubéro is a French painter and gilder. The artist excels in semi-abstract portraiture as well as pure abstraction, working with materials and colors. Her works are exhibited internationally.
Nathalie Cubéro's work is structured around several techniques that could almost be described as opposites: the artist is adept at spontaneous brushstrokes in acrylic, but also at more academic techniques such as gilding. The precious side of gold gives her works an almost mystical, even iconic, appearance.
Nathalie Cubéro's work is intended to be above all human, instinctive and emotional. The strong contrasts that emerge from it seek to suggest a certain power, that of the emotions of the living. Color is the vector of all these emotional states that the artist stages.
Made from personal or fictional stories, Nathalie Cubéro's works suggest, thus titillating the spectator's imagination.
